SE MOTHER'S DAY AS AN OCCASION TO EDUCATE MOTHERS, TO STOP GIVING THEIR WARDS UNDUE PRESSURES-DR THINK TWICE

The Chief Eecutive Officer of Think Twice Foundation Ghana, Mr. Ernest Birmeh, ppppularly called Dr. Think Twice, a leading campaigner against societal pressures in the country, is urging the media and leaders of religion to use such an occassion to educate mothers, to stop giving their wards undue pressures.

There are too much undue pressures from parents, to the extend some chidren can't bear it. Some even end up committing suicides. Others end up making wrongful choices in terms of future carries and others. Instead of serving as quidance, they serve as manupulaters of the children through unproductive societal pressures. Some misinterprete the religious books and abuse the children through pressurised mental cultural attitudes, which have lived with us throughout the years.

Leaders of religion should disabused the minds of parents on the issue of "children are gift from God" which has not been given proper interpretation to the masses. Mothers or parents should be told boldly that, they took a step to have the child or children. No child stood anywhere to ask parents to bring them to this world. If they are gift, they went in for, therefore, they should be guided and not using excessive pressures to manipulate  them.

Mounting undue pressures on wards to marry and have babies have been a very nasty experience to many, it has not only affected them, but the entire society. So many undue pressures from mothers, parents and society has brought a huge problems on us and is time we use this occasion to educate mothers, parents and society in general. Serious emphasis should be placed on respect for children rather than maintaining that old misinterpreted religious statements, which has affected us for years.
